Expanded clay 5 liters 8 - 16 mm

The RAL─certified Luwasa expanded clay for hydroponics is characterized by its high durability and ecological compatibility. Not all types of expanded clay are suitable for hydroponics. You should only use material that has been specifically tested and selected for this purpose. In contrast to many other products on the market, our expanded clay is particularly low in dust and, thanks to its stable quality, always offers plants the best conditions for healthy growth. Luwasa places the following requirements on the substrate in terms of its properties: - Rot resistance - suitable structure - structural stability - chemical indifference to the nutrient solution - capillarity - weight (not too light and not too heavy) - heat insulation and storage capacity - pleasant color Expanded clay can be used in a variety of ways: - For hydroponics (pure expanded clay substrate) - As drainage material on the ground in outdoor flower pots - As an additive to natural garden soil Expanded clay is a natural and stable mineral substrate. It can be used again and again, as the properties mentioned above are retained. If the clay is heavily soiled, it can first be washed out and/or boiled in hot water before being reused for hydroponics. In clayey soils, clay can also be mixed in to loosen the soil. However, we generally do not recommend this, as the next gardener may not enjoy having clay in their garden. Our natural, open-pored, volcanic long-term substrate is better suited for mixing in or loosening garden soil. Clay is often mixed into professional potted plant and roof garden soil. Thanks to its versatile uses, it is generally not necessary to dispose of clay. If it does need to be disposed of one day, we recommend passing it on to garden and plant lovers or putting it in the household waste, or for larger quantities, disposing of it in the building rubble.
