Astrantia major
Astrantia major
Masterwort
Astrantia major finds ideal growing conditions in partially shaded locations, or sunny locations if the soil is sufficiently moist. On loose, humus-rich soils, it forms a healthy, vigorous clump with its decoratively divided, summer-green foliage and stable flower shoots. From June onwards, this gives the bed an exceptionally beautiful flowering display in terms of shape and colour nuances, which is invaluable as an insect magnet and as a cut flower supplier. Very beautiful white to pale pink flowering perennial. Long-lived perennial.
